this love is (like honey)

shedding skin
peeling away the layers
releasing attachment
to objects, things
to memories and yester years,
to shoulda woulda coulda
because only this
is.
it's a gradual unveiling
of what has always been
ready and waiting for me to simply
let go, essence burns
like fire illuminating a dark night.
I can only know what I need now
what tomorrow brings
is a mystery.
Attuning my senses,
my capacity to hear and hold
stretches far beeyond my own meager perceptions,
pleasantly surprised, I am tickled pink like a brand new baby,
born of a manger.
This radiance, this joy
is.
Bending and swaying,
flowing and surging,
this honeysuckle tastes of sweetness,
this pollen ripe for the taking,
this liquid gold
is.
this
love
is
like honey.
