the dark side

I Love You.
And, I just want you to come Home.

A new moon has arrived,
bringing with it its watery ways,
e~motion flows, the babes cry
and we re-member.

A silent call echoes back through time
and forward into our collective timelessness
heralding us, beckoning us, begging us -
I am on my knees, destitute and grateful.
I am at my altar, prayerful and pleading.
I am here and no more.
I am now and gone.

This moment is the deciding factor,
what will you choose?
Opportunity awaits,
will I confidently stride through
that open door?

Only time
shall tell.

We welcome this Cancer New Moon which brings the message of Mother LOVE and urges us to give it to ourselves. So many things have been coming to the surface, perhaps the aspects of ourselves that we are seeing which need re-adjusting. As we embrace the clarity, we must not be too harsh on ourselves, but lovingly bring it all back into right relation.
New Moons offer us opportunities to begin again. From a new vantage point we can set forth with an expanded vision and see what needs to be addressed, what is truly important, what matters most. Nurturance is the key. It’s about nurturing/mothering our child within, so we can continue to offer our love to others.
Perfect time to focus our intentions with things having to do with our relationships, with self-love and with our home and environment. Wonderful time to go out into nature and connect directly with the Heart of the Earth, feel the grounding, feel the support, feel the peace.
When you have that moment in your sacred space, here’s a call to action for this NEW MOON>>> let’s each hold a vision of healing for our MOTHER EARTH.
Here are the astral insights from the most intuitive astrologers. First from the wonderful Cathy Pagano and her Wisdom of Astrology:
“Cancer is considered the sign of the Great Mother of Life, the nurturing power of our emotional body…feelings let us know if something is good or bad for us.  When we ignore our emotional intelligence, we create disorder and chaos in our lives and in the world.  So pay attention to your body and your feelings this month and for this new Moon, plant seeds of emotional intelligence…”
“This New Moon is conjunct Mercury retrograde, so messages will run deep.  Use the New Moon energy to go within and have a talk with yourself about your life.  What’s really important to you?  Is outer monetary security more important than inner emotional security?  Why are you here on Earth?  What’s your destiny?  If you put in the time, you will get answers.”
“The New Moon is also opposite Pluto in Capricorn and square Uranus in Aries.  What changes do you want to see in your own life and in our collective life?  What unique gift can you bring to the table?  Add some of those seeds to the mix.”
This New Moon is conjunct the bright star Sirius, which is located below the constellation Orion (the one with the three stars in his belt) in the constellation Canis Major, the Greater Dog, and is called The Dog Star. Honored in many ancient cultures, Sirius is associated with the great Goddess Isis, and is considered our spiritual sun, helping to awaken humanity to our spiritual nature.”
“The Sabian symbol for the Sun and Moon at 17* Cancer is: A woman plays with her infant within a leafy bower.  This symbol of motherhood will hopefully give us all a sense of responsibility and a deep commitment to saving our environment for our children’s future.  It can also be taken as a sign that the Great Mother of Life wants to teach us how to reach our fullest potential by taking us back to nature and teaching us that it is also through play and pleasure that we learn about who we are.  So let us get ‘back to the Garden’ as Joni Mitchell sang back in the 60s, and rediscover Joy.”

From the wonderful Pat Liles from The Power Path:
“Our needs are strong; our moods are strong; our desire to seek our foundation, security and tribe is strong. Cancer, ruled by the Moon, pulls us to create the container that supports family, safety, nourishment and love, and connects us to the universal web of life.”
“At this New Moon, we are nourished in the sign of Cancer, the first manifestation in the zodiac wheel of the emotional, receptive element of water. This feminine archetype of The Mother in all her forms – Tara, Isis, Guadalupe, Ceres, Demeter, Mother Nature, Gaia, Pachamama, activates the wisdom of the emotional body, and nurturance, support, and protection of the family and home.”
“At different times Cancer has been symbolized by the Crab, the Tortoise, the Scarab and rules the fluids of the body, the life-giving breasts, and the nourishing stomach. Cancer is sensitive and vulnerable and shields her delicate, intuitive feelings with a shell until she remembers what true home is and learns to trust Spirit. Her moods are fluctuating like the ever-changing phases of her Moon ruler.”
“Cancer rules the home, but also the foundation of the self, including the ancestors, and legacies and traditions of our culture. At this time in our evolution, we have expanded our personal view of home to include our planetary home and have become globally conscious of our Mother as a living being insuring that she receives the respect, honor and love she needs to heal the imbalances that humans have visited upon her.”
“The focus of a Cancer Moon points to sending healing prayer and intention into all the watery veins and arteries of the planet – the rivers, streams, lakes and seas that hold the life-giving fluids of the planet.”
“…Saturn, after five months retrograde, is turning direct on July 7 and is moving so slowly it will hover at 5ยบ Scorpio for almost two months (all of June and July). So our plans and projects will soon take on speed after all the soul-searching, experiences and lessons we have gathered over the last many months.”
“…We are coming into our legacy of unity, creativity, and healing capacity and this watery month is a most inviting portal.”

From the always inspiring Kelley Rosano:
“The Cancer New Moon on July 8 reveals the depth and power of your feelings. Your feelings reveal what you truly love and value. They are your guidance system.  Your passion for life is fueled by your feelings. They nourish your creative, artistic and intuitive abilities. In fact, having all the wealth in the world does not matter if you do not feel good. Your feelings count. Trust your emotional instincts… “
“Cancer is the mothering, sustaining, and nurturing sign of the zodiac. Cancer is the sign of the womb, the house and the home. Cancer is the protecting principle…Cancer is the High Priestess in the Tarot.”
“… This is a good time to nourish and nurture you. Be a loving parent to your inner child (soul). Rest, play and be kind to your body.  Notice your digestion.”
“Saturn turns direct on July 8 hours before the new Moon. Saturn has been in reverse since February 18. What have you learned since February? Saturn in Scorpio teaches you patience, wisdom and Self-discipline. Saturn in Scorpio will reveal to us our weakest links…Saturn wants you to set your boundaries and raise your standards. Saturn is asking you to empower yourself. You do this by increasing your self-worth in relationships, your money and your resources. Practice healthy-selfishness and do what is right for you…”
”Jupiter, Saturn and Neptune are in a rare grand water trine. This positive aspect can help you heal your body, mind and life.  This amazing astrological event will be with you for all of July. Mars moves into Cancer on July 13 joining the Grand Water trine. Your actions may be driven by your feelings, intuition and personal desires. On the one hand, if we are not facing our feelings. Then, we are sidestepping important issues.”
“Mars in Cancer can make you feel grumpy and irritable. Honor your real feelings. Feelings cannot be right or wrong. Feelings are not a math equation. Feelings reveal the truth about your life.  On the other hand, Mars in Cancer can initiate new projects, goals and prospects. We can nourish and nurture our new ideas with tenderness and care.”
”…The Cancer New Moon and the incredibly spiritual Neptune, Saturn, Jupiter grand trine reminds us that you are never alone. You are loved. Stand in your authentic Self loving who you truly are — a great spiritual being of light…”
“Connecting to your soul is real love…We cannot truly love another if we do not love Self. You cannot give to another what you have not given to Self. Love yourself. Trust your instincts…”
“We are connected to each other through our hearts and back to the heart of Creator. The Cancer New Moon message is that All Are One. We are family.”

From the insightful and poetic Sarah Varcas and her Astro-Awakenings.uk:
“In the darkness of this New Moon we are invited to dream our future selves into being. This is an intuitive Moon who has so much she wants to share and asks us to be ready to receive. She reminds us that no matter how often we may feel the necessary changes are too great for us to implement, in fact the change has already happened. We are already transformed, we just haven’t real-ised it yet. She wants us to stop striving now, to relax, be still and recognise the deep peace within, in which our potential has its being. There is nothing to add, she tells us, nothing to do and nowhere to go. At this moment, right now, we have everything we need to be who we are meant to be. We are already complete.”
“It can be hard to trust such a message at times when we feel vulnerable, fearful of the future, of the challenges ahead or of losing the securities we have now. It can be disheartening to want something so much and yet see no manageable path from here to there. Sometimes giving up seems like the only sensible approach: settling for the familiarity of a half-lived life rather than risking our current security to pursue the hope of a more fulfilling one. But this Moon exhorts us not to give up or give in, but to simply rest for a while in the knowing that who and what we truly are is already alive within us, waiting to be born.”
“At the time of this Moon, Mercury is heading back towards her and they meet a few hours later. Retrograde in Cancer, Mercury brings us information about the circumstances necessary for us to fulfil our potential. In order for the mighty oak to flourish certain conditions must be met: sunlight, rain, nourishing soil and space to grow. We are that tree and the woodland is our life, the things we do, the people in it.”
“The ecosystem in which we grow is delicate, requiring close attention and loving care. In the coming few days we are encouraged to give it that care, to rebalance things that have fallen out of kilter, to address the dynamics between ourselves and others, to create more space or use the space we have with more awareness.”
“The time is ripe for these changes now and they will come with ease if we undertake them with an open heart and a recognition that all we truly are is already within us, just awaiting the right time to break out of the acorn and grow.”
‘The gentleness of this New Moon touches me deeply as I write these words. Her whispers are carried through the darkness to remind us that when we cease to strive growth becomes possible. All we have to do is watch and wait. Tend the ground, water the soil and know that life is unfolding exactly as it must – and we with it – into our own unique and radiant majesty: a mighty tree from a tiny seed, all in the fullness of time.”
